MEP Stamping Services

Apex Grid Engineering provides MEP stamping services across 49 states and the District of Columbia — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plan sets reviewed in responsible charge by licensed engineers and sealed for permit. Each discipline's sheets are sealed by an engineer qualified in that discipline, coordinated across trades, supported by calculations, and paired with energy compliance documentation for the adopted code. Veteran-owned, 10+ licensed professional engineers, with plan-check correction support on every sealed MEP set.

Illustrative diagram of the professional engineer review and seal workflow: drawings are reviewed against a checklist, sealed by a licensed PE, and issued as a permit set.

What MEP stamping covers

HVAC design with real heating and cooling loads, right-sized equipment, and ductwork layouts; electrical design with service sizing, fault-current coordination, lighting and controls; and plumbing design covering domestic distribution, sanitary and storm drainage, and gas piping. Fire protection, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems are coordinated with the sealed set so the reviewer sees one package.

  • HVAC loads, equipment selection, and ductwork design
  • Electrical service, distribution, lighting, and controls
  • Plumbing distribution, drainage, and gas piping
  • Energy compliance documentation for the adopted code

Designed for each state's climate and utilities

MEP stamping answers to local reality: cooling-dominated Gulf states need dehumidification and mold detailing, northern states need freeze protection and heating capacity, seismic states need equipment anchorage, and every state has its own energy code path. Each state page below details the climate drivers, utility coordination, and energy code the sealed MEP set is engineered around.

Review-and-seal, not stamp-for-hire

Apex Grid's engineers define the MEP scope, review the design basis, and perform or verify the engineering before sealing. Contractor or design-build drawings are sealed only after independent responsible-charge review — unverifiable MEP documents are not sealed.

Licensed coverage: 49 states plus the District of Columbia

Apex Grid Engineering seals MEP work in 49 states — every state except Alaska — plus the District of Columbia. Select the project state below for jurisdiction-specific MEP requirements, energy code, and plan-review detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do MEP drawings need a PE seal?
Commercial and multi-family MEP plan sets routinely require a licensed PE seal for permit — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing sheets each sealed by an engineer qualified in that discipline, with supporting calculations.
Is energy compliance included in the stamping scope?
Yes. Energy compliance documentation is prepared alongside the sealed MEP drawings for the adopted energy code, and the engineer of record confirms the compliance path before sealing.
Can you seal MEP drawings from a design-build contractor?
Only after responsible-charge review: the licensed engineer reviews the design basis, verifies or re-performs the MEP engineering, and confirms the documents are eligible for sealing. Unverifiable drawings are not sealed.
