The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) drives stormwater and sediment/erosion control, and the state's Critical Area law imposes strict development limits within 1,000 feet of the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays tidal waters — a major, Maryland-specific site constraint.
