Treat a professional seal as responsibility
A professional seal is tied to the defined engineering work and the person authorized to accept professional responsibility for it. It is not a detached signature, a commodity, or a substitute for design and independent review.
A correction response should quote the original issue, identify the changed document, and state the technical resolution without implying automatic approval.
The responsible professional determines whether the requested work is within competence, authorization, and applicable jurisdictional rules. The project team should provide enough records for that decision and should never treat this guide as a claim that a particular document may be sealed.
Scope and intake evidence
A project-specific proposal should describe inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and client decisions so the engineering work remains legible through construction.
