How much does ADU plan engineering cost?

ADU plan engineering has no responsible universal package price. The fee depends on whether the ADU is detached, attached, or a conversion; the existing structure and foundation; new gravity and lateral loads; site and utility constraints; code and jurisdictional requirements; calculations; drawings; coordination; and revisions. A useful proposal states what engineering and permit deliverables are included, what the architect or other specialists provide, and what remains unverified.

ADU configuration changes the engineering question

A detached ADU is a new structure; an attached addition transfers new reactions into the house; and a garage or room conversion may expose existing foundations and framing that were never documented for the proposed use. I ask for the plan concept, levels, dimensions, construction type, and intended permit path so the responsible engineer can define the right analysis.
